So Clegg's star is on the rise. Well according to the press & TV.
But how will it affect the actual man & woman in the street if he get's a whiff of power.
Do we really want to throw our lot in with the European Union? The Irish did & was very content, at first. Then along came the Lisbon Treaty.
NO = NO in most languages. However, not where the non accountable EU was concerned. So another referendum was held, with a few sweetners... And what do you know? They got a YES!
We of course weren't giving an option. Me wonders why?
Yet suddenly Clegg rides to the rescue promising referendums on everything! Including...now wait for this..The Lisbon Treaty!
One minor problem, you can't hold a referendum on something UK has already signed up too!
Never mind...It goes down well with the voting public. Much like the rest of his vacous policies...
Clegg is desperate for power. Brown equally desperate to hang on to power...Go figure!

Actually, while I will not be voting Libdems, you can have a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty since no government can force the hand of the next government.
ReplyDeleteWhether the punitive measures by the EU would make it financially unviable is to be seen (if we voted no that is).
However, since the Lib dems reneged on their promise of a referendum when they had the chance, I don't trust them one iota!
I have always thought that there should be another referendum. Why should you have another when it was NON? Why not have another when it is OUI? And so on, and so forth. That was the most undemocratic thing I ever saw in my life.
ReplyDeleteThe EU have NO right to rule me. Ever. I stand by that right, and I guess what I do to defend it would scare most people. It scares the crap out of me, but I think I'm alone here ...
That is so uninformed it's amazing.
ReplyDeleteI would recommend that you stop reading the Daily Mail and try an actual grown-up newspaper.
