Those Were The days...

So Clegg's star is on the rise. Well according to the press & TV.
But how will it affect the actual man & woman in the street if he get's a whiff of power.
Do we really want to throw our lot in with the European Union? The Irish did & was very content, at first. Then along came the Lisbon Treaty.
NO = NO in most languages. However, not where the non accountable EU was concerned. So another referendum was held, with a few sweetners... And what do you know? They got a YES!
We of course weren't giving an option. Me wonders why?
Yet suddenly Clegg rides to the rescue promising referendums on everything! Including...now wait for this..The Lisbon Treaty!
One minor problem, you can't hold a referendum on something UK has already signed up too!
Never mind...It goes down well with the voting public. Much like the rest of his vacous policies...
Clegg is desperate for power. Brown equally desperate to hang on to power...Go figure!

It's more convenient for soldiers to die.

A few weeks ago, I was out with my dogs in the early evening when some fireworks began to go off.

My youngest Collie Alf, is terrified of them & duly did a runner for the nearest gate. By the time I'd got the other two on their leads, Alf was long gone. However, much to my relief, a cyclist had stopped Alf from running out into the road & was waiting with him.

I explained how sometimes I had to resort to Valium for the dogs due their fear of noise. It turned out the cyclist was a Psychiatric nurse, working with the soldiers returning from the war.

He spoke of the many returning from duty in Afghanistan with terrible psychological difficulties, including an unreasonable fear of loud noises. They are given Valium and many other drugs in order to help them.

There are some still struggling to cope with the aftermath of the Iraq war. To quote him, those who the powers that be, prefer to forget. In other words, it was more convenient for them to die outright, than come home so deeply scarred. His way of coping with the stress, was to cycle round Richmond Park in the evening when it's closed to traffic.

It was a brief yet sobering encounter. Had those fireworks not gone off & Alf been so scared, I'd never have met this chap. We never even exchanged names. As we parted I had tears rolling down my face.

NHS: To IVF or not to IVF.

Today on Twitter, I was asked why a drug which only prolongs life should be available on the NHS and IVF shouldn't be. No contest in my opinion.

I can not justify telling someone who is dying, that a drug which will prolong their life, possibly for years, is not available on the NHS. Yet a woman who for whatever reason, is infertile can have VERY expensive treatment free.

Average cost of IVF is around £3-4k. It often takes 3-4 lots of treatment before conception. At BEST only a 25% success rate. That's about £12k. But it doesn't stop there. An IVF pregnancy, very rarely goes full term. Therefore more costs are involved to ensure a live birth. Meanwhile, treatment for someone suffering from an aggressive form of cancer, is told, "It's too expensive to treat you & you'll die anyway". Think about it.

If it was your loved one dying, wouldn't you want to spend a little longer with them?

INFERTILITY has never killed anyone. Cancer has & does! You want a baby badly enough, you'll find the money. If you don't or can't? Tough. Get over it & get on with your life. No one said life is fair. It 'ain't.

What About A Childs Rights?

Heard a woman on the radio, defending the 22 year old slapper who left her 4, yes 4 children alone, to go on a 24 hour drink & drugs binge.
All the children are under 5 years old, one less than 5 months.
The usual crap excuses were being used.
"This is a witch hunt by the media."
"She left them because she couldn't cope."
"She's only 22, the social services should have done more to help."
"She is their mother"....
Oh REALLY??
Unless those children were the result of rape, who's bright idea was it to give birth to them?
Since when did opening your legs twice, once for conception & again for the birth, give YOU the right to abuse the baby you give birth to?
I'm pig sick of hearing Socialist's spouting on about a "Mothers" rights.
BOLLOCKS!!!!
The second you decide to give birth to a human being, YOU give up YOUR rights. The child should come, FIRST, SECOND & FOREMOST in your life.
If you 'ain't prepared to do that, have an abortion or give the child up for adoption. Simple.
It's high time we stopped thinking of the "MOTHER", & started thinking of the tiny human beings rights.
Sickest part? Pets have more rights under the Law than a baby/child.
Well done Labour...You've allowed this abuse to happen.
The sooner Labour is out, the better for these children.
Oh & her sentence for this appalling episode of child abuse? 6 months suspended!
Should have got 5 years. Don't give me your bleedin' heart excuses.
They're all bollocks!

Dissappearing Words.

"Heart's like doors, open with ease to very little keys.
Just remember two of these are, I thank you and if you please"
Learnt that ditty as a rug rat. Never forgotten it.
The point? Simple.
Using words like, thank you, please & excuse me = respect for another person.
The most seldom heard words nowadays are; "I'm sorry".
Why? Again, simple.
It takes courage to admit you've made a mistake or are wrong & few people have that.
My father ensured I would always have the guts to apologise.
Courage is sadly lacking in our politicians these days.
Blair & Brown spring to mind.

Labours Devastating Legacy

"Seven Puppies for Seven People." BBC TWO 12th November 2009

The above documentary is set in East London, near where 2012 Olympics is due to be held.

It focused on Jackie, a single mother living on benefits with a teenage son who refuses to attend school.  Sounding familiar?  They own two Staffordshire Bull Terrier crosses, one dog, one bitch. You can guess why. The bitch duly whelped 7 Staffi cross puppies in the cramped front room of her terraced Council house. Her friend, Donna, is the local whelping expert having helped over 30 litters of puppies into the world.

This Donna woman, is known locally as the "Pit Bull Lady", which says it all really. She owns a large, Cane Corso Mastiff*  and Donna is exceedingly proud of how aggressive this dog is. She boasts it would rip an adult to shreds. He's very sought after as a Stud dog locally.
(*The Cane Corso is the breed of dog most favoured as guards by the drug barons & Mafia...need I say more?)

As the story continues to unfold, we see the real under class which this Labour Government has created in the 13 years they've been in office.

None of the people we see with the puppies work. They all live in Council accommodation. Most are in blocks of flats. Yet look at their life style. They smoke, drink & go to the pub. They all have modern computers, all have internet access, new flat screen TV's, DVD/CD players, mobile phones & Sky/Virgin digital channels to watch. None live in poverty. Yet they complain "The social don't pay them enough."  These people have no ambition to work. As one young bloke put it, "Why should I lower myself to work mixing up cement on a building site, I'm better than that." Oh really? So much so he prefers to resort to petty theft to boost his benefits money.

The real little earner for these people is the breeding & selling of these puppies. Not as pets, but as weapons to be used against others. Bull terrier X Cane Corso pups can fetch up to £800. Staffi X £200 -£400 a pup.

In conclusion, this program showed the real legacy of Labour. Generations of benefit claimers, earning plenty of cash on top, refusing to attempt to better themselves. Worst still is the fact nothing is done to stop these people breeding & owning dangerous dogs. I for one find this very worrying & quite scary.

NB. The vast majority of dogs destroyed daily in the UK are Staffordshire Bull Terrier crosses.
